I have six wonderful nieces and nephews, one is only fresh to this world, so he didn't get a Christmas present, two are big fellas and I'm not sure they are into hand-crafted toys, and I have two nieces and a nephew who were living a long way from us this last Christmas. I made them some special toys, and I hope they are still enjoying them now.
These are a couple of little dolly bags I made for my nieces. Such a cute concept. The pattern was from Peppermint Patch Quilts, and I did change it a little to put some hook of velcro as the dolly's underwear and the back of each dress was in quilting batting, so it sticks to the hook. I also made a little case for the different outfits so that the girls could use the bag as a bag and have the outfits along for the ride.
And this little guy was for my nephew. His name is Melvin the Moose. He's from the Kaleidoscope book. I love this little guy, he's awesome. He is supposed to have overalls, but I haven't made them, so he's a naked Moose.
Anyway, I was only thinking of this because I've started thinking about this year's Christmas gifts for the family children. I'm wondering if I can come up with something for teenage boys.....
teenage boys - they are the hardest to buy for love the doll in a bag.
